Exosome treatment or microneedling – what is the difference?

Two treatments, one question we are constantly asked: Microneedling or Exosomes – which is actually better for my skin?

The short answer: It depends on what your skin needs. You can read the longer answer here.

Two different operating principles

Microneedling works mechanically: Fine, sterile needles create a controlled micro-stimulus in the skin. This stimulates the skin’s natural regeneration process. At the same time, it can improve the absorption of subsequently applied active ingredients.

Exosomes are used as modern drug concepts. These are tiny extracellular vesicles that are being studied in research, among other things, in connection with communication between cells and regenerative processes.

In our application, we work with a formulation that, according to the manufacturer, contains 25 trillion exosomes .

In direct comparison

criterion Microneedling Exosome treatment
Operating principle Mechanical microstimulus exosome-based drug approach
Sensation during treatment Needling sensation possible Usually very gentle
Main goal Supporting skin structure and regeneration Supporting Regenerative Skin Care
Typical reaction Temporary reddening possible Depending on the application, usually a slight reaction.
Popular combination Can be combined with suitable active ingredients Can be used as a supplement

Why the combination might be interesting

Microneedling and exosomes do not necessarily have to be viewed as two competing treatment methods.

Depending on the skin condition and individual treatment goal, different approaches can be combined. Microneedling provides a controlled mechanical stimulus, while exosomes can be used as an active ingredient concept to support regeneration-oriented skincare.

For this reason, a combination of both approaches can be part of an individually tailored Longevity Facial Treatment .

We don’t decide which combination makes sense in general terms, but rather after a personal skin analysis.

A question of the individual starting situation

Those who desire a treatment to support skin structure can benefit from an individually tailored microneedling concept.

Those who prefer a particularly gentle, regeneration-oriented approach to skincare may be interested in exosome treatment.

And in some cases, combining different methods can be useful.

What matters is not which treatment is generally „better“, but which method suits your skin condition and your personal goals.

What should you consider before treatment?

Every skin reacts differently. That’s why a professional skin analysis before treatment is advisable.

The following points, among others, can be taken into account:

  • current skin condition
  • skin type
  • personal skin goals
  • previous cosmetic treatments
  • individual sensitivity
  • desired treatment intensity

In the case of certain skin diseases, acute skin problems or other health conditions, a professional assessment should be carried out before treatment.

Exosomes, microneedling and skin longevity

Both approaches can be part of a broader skin longevity concept.

The focus is not on the fastest possible change to individual skin characteristics. Rather, it is about long-term skincare and individually tailored professional treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is better: exosomes or microneedling?

There’s no single answer to that. Which treatment is appropriate depends on the individual skin condition and personal goals.

What is the difference between exosomes and microneedling?

Microneedling works with a controlled mechanical microstimulus. Exosomes are used as an active ingredient concept and are being researched in connection with cell communication and regenerative processes.

Is it possible to combine exosomes and microneedling?

Depending on your skin condition and treatment plan, a combination of treatments may be beneficial. Whether it’s suitable for you should be assessed individually.

Is microneedling painful?

The sensation can vary from person to person. A mild needling sensation may occur during the treatment. The intensity is adjusted individually.

How long does the treatment take?

The duration depends on the chosen treatment and the individual plan. We will inform you about the process in detail during a consultation.
